Competencies:
Advance Knowledge of:
• Coal Fired Power Plant Operation
• Power system design, electrical equipment sizing and protective relaying use in a coal fired
power plant
• Electrical calculation and engineering codes use in industrial setting that include but not
limited to PEC, IEC and IEEE
• Electrical high voltage equipment such as GIS, power transformer, generators and HV motors

• Financial principles, Budget development and Cost control
• Detailed spares management for system performance
• The standards, methods, practices and material for the maintenance of plant
• Competent in reading and writing diagrams and instructions of the power plant
• Understanding blue prints, P&ID and as built drawings
• Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management systems, safety rules and associated
legislation.

Skills and Abilities:
• Use of tester, data logger, and different hand tools
• Supervise, lead, motivate and coordinate
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, instrument loop diagram, P&ID and electrical symbols.
• Diagnose and make changes to PLC, SCADA, DCS software and hardware
• Conduct different maintenance strategies (i.e. PM, CM)

? Conduct sample test on the sample from the load out and prepare Certificate of Analysis for
delivery purposes.
? Assist in the preparation of technical studies and reports as instructed.
? In-charge in GMP/HACCP compliances and monitoring.
? Handles good housekeeping and safety of Quality Control Office.
